Grant

Grant

Grant was born in the 1970s and navigated his formative decades of the ’80s and ’90s in Johannesburg. Having fallen in love with Cape Town as a visitor, he made the permanent move to the mother city more than 25 years ago—and has never looked back.

A natural-born host and true bon vivant, Grant brings a rich background in the creative and service industries, with experience spanning film, events, entertainment, marketing, and hospitality. His career has always centred on people, storytelling, and creating memorable experiences.

Grant co-founded Beefcakes, a bold and original Cape Town venue combining gourmet burgers, cocktails, high-energy entertainment, and its now-iconic topless barmen. The concept quickly became a legendary success and an internationally recognised brand. Following the successful sale and expansion of the business shortly before the pandemic, Grant chose to remain in the world he enjoys most —hospitality and service—by turning his focus to tourism.

More than five years ago, Grant qualified as a registered cultural tourist guide for the Western Cape and Garden Route. Since then, he has specialised in hosting exclusive private tours, curating unforgettable experiences that showcase Cape Town’s dramatic landscapes, world-class wine routes, vibrant food culture, and ever-evolving entertainment scene.

A passionate local and international traveller himself, Grant has a deep love for adventure, exploration, and the performing arts. His broad life experience, insider knowledge, and warm, engaging style allow him to connect effortlessly with guests from around the world.

Grant’s unique background, infectious enthusiasm, and intimate knowledge of the region make him exceptionally well suited to delivering personalised, insightful, and truly memorable tours of Cape Town and beyond.
